Effective Chiropractic Treatments for TMJ Disorders

Do you have jaw pain, tenderness, clicking, or popping in your jaw? Do you have trouble opening your mouth all the way or restricted motion of your jaw? If the answer is yes, you most likely have TMJ Dysfunction or TMJD. If you live in the Denver area and are experiencing TMJ pain or symptoms of any kind, Broadway Chiropractic Center has specialized post graduate training for the treatment of TMJD.

The (Jaw) Temporo-mandibular joint or TMJ is a complex joint that can dysfunction in any part of its range of motion. There can be dysfunction of the joint, muscle spasms around the joint and irritaion of nerves to the area. The TMJ will typically deviate toward the affected side. If the jaw deviates to both sides during its range of motion, then most likely both sides are affected. If the jaw doesn't open as far as it should, then one or both sides could be affected.

How we can help

Dr. Madden will do a thorough examination to determine where the problems are occurring in and around the jaw. Your full range of motion is assessed for problems as well as nerve irritation, and muscle involvement. Once the cause of your problem is identified, very gentle adjustments are performed to restore normal range of motion to the joints. Relief usually happens very rapidly after normal joint motion is established, nerve irritation is removed and muscle tension relaxed. Restricted motion or trouble opening your mouth all the way also improves once normal joint motion is restored. If you are tired of your jaw hurting or can't open your mouth all the way and want to be able to talk or eat again without pain, call us (303) 733-3522. We can help.
